OpenAI's Consumer Devices team is hiring a Linux kernel engineer for its San Francisco office, on-site. The job is to design, implement and maintain kernel subsystem changes that support device capabilities, own features across the kernel–userspace boundary, debug correctness, concurrency, power and performance issues with tracing and profiling tools, and build tests that catch regressions. It asks for substantial hands-on kernel experience, proficiency in C, and a grasp of kernel concurrency and upstream patch practices; Rust kernel work is a plus.
