A 2027 summer internship on Waymo's AI Foundations team, working on perception foundation models for autonomous driving. The intern designs machine-learning experiments, iterates on models, and evaluates results; the team's stated focus areas include reinforcement learning, generative modeling, Bayesian inference and robust evaluation. Candidates must be pursuing a PhD in computer science, robotics or machine learning, and know Python plus an ML framework such as PyTorch or TensorFlow. Preferred: publications, robotics or AV exposure, world modeling. It pays $85 an hour and is hybrid onsite in Mountain View.
