A demo evening run by the Toronto AI Meetup together with the AWS User Group Toronto. The presenter runs db-agent, an open-source text-to-SQL agent, against a Databricks SQL warehouse on AWS, using a local model served through Ollama instead of a metered model API. The session covers what a self-hosted model handles well, where it fails, and the read-only safety layer that stops the agent from issuing destructive queries. The code is open source, and registration is handled through the AWS user group page.
