Google Developer Group PoliMi's Beer Review series takes one science or tech story, the researchers behind it and a bar to argue in. Its first edition examines OpenAI's announcement that 10,000 AI agents spent 88 hours on the Navier–Stokes problem, one of the Millennium Prize Problems. Two professors from Politecnico di Milano's mathematics department, Alessio Falocchi and Danica Basaric, explain what the Millennium Prize Problems are, what the Navier–Stokes question asks, and give their reading of the credit dispute around the AI claim. No background is assumed; questions follow.
