Transitions Research runs a participatory workshop on how artificial intelligence is entering agriculture as climate change intensifies pressure on food systems. Sessions examine AI in climate forecasting, pest prediction, precision irrigation, crop monitoring, advisories, insurance, finance and supply chains, and ask whether these tools strengthen farmers' capacity to anticipate and absorb climate risks. Participants include smallholder farmers, farmers' organisations, agricultural SMEs, researchers, policymakers, climate adaptation practitioners, technology developers and civil society actors, looking at how AI reshapes relationships among farmers, governments and technology companies.
