A gathering of the Sovereign AI Club, shared with Austin Computer Club members, built around a Socratic discussion rather than talks. A host brings recent AI news and research, and the group works through it with questions, comparing sources. The focus is local AI and open models: what can be run on one's own hardware, downloadable weights, open source tooling, and how data gets used. A guided news conversation is followed by time for member projects and questions. Builders, researchers and curious newcomers are welcome, with no presentation required.
