The Paper Discussion Group meets online each week to talk through recent and fundamental machine-learning papers. This session covers Digital Red Queen, which uses LLMs to evolve Redcode warriors competing in Core War, a self-modifying virtual machine where each program tries to crash its opponents and stay the last one running. New warriors are pitted against all earlier ones, and independent runs converge on similar behaviours. Participants are asked to read the paper beforehand; the discussion is in German or English depending on who attends.
