SFDebate's regular online meeting takes an unusual form: generative AI chatbots deliver the opening statements and rebuttals on the motion "Should AI replace human speakers at SFDebate?", generated from a prompt reproduced on the event page. Human attendees then take part in a moderated floor debate in the group's usual format, where speaking is optional. The listing sets out both sides -- less work for volunteers versus the club's purpose of building members' persuasive skills -- and widens the question to other jobs AI might take over. The meeting runs on Zoom; the link is visible on the event page to those who RSVP.
