Hosted by the Zürich AI, Machine Learning and Computer Vision Meetup, this online session presents two research talks from San Diego State University. Xiaobai Liu, a computer science professor who directs the Machine Vision and Perception Lab, discusses Agent as Policy, a method that lets a general-purpose agent control a physical robot without task-specific training. Salimeh Sekeh and PhD student Mary Wisell then cover grounding multimodal open-world learning for physical AI, including out-of-distribution detection, distribution shift generalization, and cascaded semantic grounding.
