The AI Safety Awareness Group Seattle runs a free, public workshop on how AI changes the value and the risks of personal data. It starts with how the privacy landscape worked before modern AI — tracking, ads, data brokers, surveillance — then looks at what changes when models can search, summarize, infer, predict and act on large amounts of text, images, location data and messages. Discussion covers surveillance, collection incentives, targeted advertising and political messaging, and AI-assisted fraud, phishing and impersonation. A live demo shows how current tools can scale scams. No technical background is assumed, and the framing is understanding the new reality rather than advising people to delete every app.
