Week 2 of a seven-week AI engineering program run by Build & Learn: AI with Coffee. The session covers the LLM application layer of an end-to-end project: the OpenAI API and Python SDK, including authentication, requests, structured outputs and tool calling; prompt engineering; using deterministic logic first and LLMs only where useful; and building agents from scratch with a five-level agent taxonomy. Attendees can follow the shared build or apply the concepts to their own project. It is for people moving toward AI engineering; basic programming experience is recommended.
