Zvi Mowshowitz writes Don't Worry About the Vase, a Substack of weekly AI roundups and near-daily posts on AI policy and risk, and founded Balsa Research.

Zvi Mowshowitz is an American writer associated with the rationalist community. He has a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Columbia University, was elected to the Magic: The Gathering Hall of Fame in 2007, has worked at Jane Street Capital and in the Las Vegas gambling industry, and ran the medical research firm MetaMed, which shut down in 2015. In September 2022 he founded Balsa Research, a nonprofit that works on US policy, including repeal of the Jones Act. He writes "Don't Worry About the Vase" on Substack, which lists over 39,000 subscribers. It is now mainly about AI: a numbered weekly roundup, of which issue 186 appeared on 17 September 2026, plus near-daily posts on model releases, lab announcements, regulation and existential risk, with occasional writing on housing, medicine and games.
