Tina Huang went from data scientist at Meta to a 1.31M-subscriber YouTube channel and founding the AI school Lonely Octopus.

Tina Huang is a data scientist turned YouTuber and the founder and chief executive of Lonely Octopus, which runs cohort programmes, workshops and a freelancing masterclass in practical AI. She studied pharmacology at the University of Toronto, took a master's in computer and information technology at the University of Pennsylvania, interned at Goldman Sachs and worked as a data scientist at Meta before moving to content creation full time. Her YouTube channel, with 1.31 million subscribers, covers AI, coding, data work, study methods and career advice for people teaching themselves into tech. Lonely Octopus's own programmes include a 28-day AI agent bootcamp, and she was billed to speak at HubSpot's UNBOUND conference in September 2026.
