Josh Starmer is the founder and chief executive of StatQuest, whose YouTube channel has 1.69 million subscribers and breaks statistics, machine learning and AI into step-by-step visual explanations. He holds a PhD in biomathematics and computational biology, plus bachelor's degrees in computer science and in music, and spent 13 years at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, first as a postdoc and then as an assistant professor in the genetics department, applying statistics to genetic data. He writes the StatQuest Illustrated Guides to machine learning, statistics, and neural networks and AI, and was lead AI educator at Lightning AI.
