Richard Socher runs You.com and Recursive Superintelligence, co-wrote GloVe and the ImageNet paper, and was Salesforce's chief scientist after MetaMind.

Richard Socher is a German-born computer scientist and entrepreneur, co-founder and chief executive of You.com and of Recursive Superintelligence. Born in Dresden in 1983, he studied at the University of Leipzig and Saarland University before taking a PhD in computer science at Stanford in 2014, where he later taught as an adjunct professor. He was a co-author of the ImageNet paper and of GloVe, the word-vector algorithm. In 2014 he founded MetaMind, which Salesforce bought in 2016; he then served as Salesforce's chief scientist and executive vice-president, running fundamental and applied research, product incubation, search and customer-service automation. He and Bryan McCann launched You.com in 2020; it now sells web-search APIs to companies building on large language models. He is also founder and managing partner of AIX Ventures. He co-founded Recursive Superintelligence, which builds recursively self-improving systems meant to automate knowledge discovery. It came out of stealth on 13 May 2026 with $650 million raised at a $4.65 billion valuation in a round led by GV and Greycroft, with Nvidia and AMD taking part, and has offices in San Francisco and London.
