Radek Osmulski is a senior research data scientist at NVIDIA and describes himself as a three-time Kaggle Grandmaster. He taught himself to code at 29, worked first as a Ruby on Rails developer, and then moved into deep learning, largely through fast.ai's courses. He is the author of Meta Learning: How To Learn Deep Learning And Thrive In The Digital World, a book about learning machine learning without a traditional academic background. On his blog he writes about study strategy and about practical work - structuring an ML project around LLM coding assistants, running jobs on remote machines, policy-gradient and PPO reinforcement learning, fine-tuning transformers with LoRA. He left Poland for work in AI and now lives with his family in Brisbane, Australia. He publishes a newsletter and blog at radekosmulski.com and shares career and technical advice on X, LinkedIn and YouTube.
