Omar Sanseviero leads Developer Experience at Google DeepMind, where his team covers AI Studio, the Gemini API and Gemma, and handles the developer side of model launches including Gemini 3, Gemma and Nano Banana. He is involved in the lab's open model work, including MedGemma and EmbeddingGemma. Before Google DeepMind he spent several years at Hugging Face as Head of Platform and Community, a job he also went by as Chief Llama Officer. He launched Hugging Face Spaces and grew it from about 500 to more than 400,000 community-built demos, built integrations with libraries such as spaCy and Sentence Transformers, and created the company's Developer Advocacy Engineering and Moonshot teams, 25 people by the time he left. Earlier he was a software engineer and product manager at Google, building machine learning models and infrastructure for Google Assistant and serving as a 20% product manager for the TensorFlow Graphics team. He has lived in Mexico, Peru and Panama, and is now based in Zurich.
