May Habib co-founded Writer and is its CEO. Harvard economics, Lehman Brothers and Mubadala, then Qordoba; Writer raised $200M at a $1.9B valuation in 2024.

May Habib is co-founder and chief executive of Writer, the enterprise AI company she runs with Waseem AlShikh, its co-founder and chief technology officer. Writer's own site dates the company to 2020 and puts its headquarters in San Francisco, with offices in New York, London, Chicago and Austin. Habib was born in Lebanon, the eldest of eight children, and came to Canada with her family at the age of eight. She took an AB at Harvard in economics and Near Eastern languages and civilizations, graduating with high honours, and was an analyst at Lehman Brothers and later a vice-president at Mubadala before she and AlShikh built Qordoba, a translation and localisation company they later turned into Writer. In November 2024 Writer raised a $200 million Series C at a $1.9 billion valuation, co-led by Premji Invest, Radical Ventures and ICONIQ Growth, taking the total raised to $326 million; the announcement named Mars, Ally Bank, Prudential, Qualcomm, Salesforce, Uber, Vanguard and Intuit among its customers. In April 2025 the company launched AI HQ, where enterprises build and supervise AI agents.
