Harrison Chase - LangChain co-founder and CEO

Harrison Chase created LangChain in 2022 and runs the company as CEO. It raised $125m at a $1.25bn valuation in October 2025 and hosts the Interrupt conference.

Harrison Chase, the co-founder and CEO of LangChain, studied statistics and computer science at Harvard, led an entity-linking team at financial-technology company Kensho, and led a machine-learning team at Robust Intelligence, where in the autumn of 2022 he pushed the first code of LangChain, an open-source Python package for building applications on large language models. A month later ChatGPT launched and, as he puts it, "everything for langchain changed". He and Ankush Gola turned the project into a company in early 2023. Benchmark led a $10 million seed in March that year; by April the company had raised more than $20 million from Sequoia Capital at a valuation of at least $200 million. LangSmith, for tracing and evaluating LLM applications, followed in February 2024. In October 2025 he announced a $125 million round at a $1.25 billion valuation, with the packages at 80 million downloads a month. He opened both days of LangChain's Interrupt conference in May 2026.
