Dwarkesh Patel interviews AI researchers and company heads on the Dwarkesh Podcast, now 1.42M YouTube subscribers, and wrote The Scaling Era in 2025.

Dwarkesh Patel hosts the Dwarkesh Podcast, a long-form interview show about AI, science and history. He was born in India, moved to the United States as a child and studied computer science at the University of Texas at Austin, graduating in December 2021, and he began interviewing writers and technologists in 2020 under the show's earlier name, The Lunar Society. Guests have included AI researchers such as Andrej Karpathy and Ilya Sutskever, company heads including Mark Zuckerberg, Satya Nadella, Dario Amodei and Demis Hassabis, and political figures such as the former UK prime minister Tony Blair. The YouTube channel has 1.42 million subscribers and the show also runs on Substack, Apple Podcasts and Spotify. In 2025 Stripe Press published The Scaling Era: An Oral History of AI, 2019-2025, which Patel wrote with Gavin Leech out of those interviews. Introducing him that April, The Economist's Money Talks said "the 24-year-old rose from nowhere to become Silicon Valley's favourite podcaster".
