Damien Benveniste, founder of The AiEdge newsletter and former Machine Learning Tech Lead at Meta, teaches ML system design, MLOps and LLM engineering.

Damien Benveniste holds a PhD in theoretical physics — a thesis on turbulence, “Two-Particle Dispersion Models for Turbulent Flows” — and spent roughly a decade as a data scientist, machine learning engineer and software engineer across adtech, market research, financial advising, cloud management, online retail, credit scoring, healthcare and energy. He was a Machine Learning Tech Lead at Meta, automating model optimisation at scale for ads ranking; his LinkedIn headline now lists him as a staff agent engineer at TRM Labs, a blockchain-intelligence company. He runs The AiEdge, a Substack newsletter with more than 82,000 subscribers and project-based courses on shipping LLM and agentic-RAG systems. He publishes several times a week; recent pieces cover constrained decoding, sparse attention and speculative decoding, mostly diagrams and worked examples rather than commentary. On X and on LinkedIn he breaks down ML infrastructure and LLM pipeline design for engineers. He is based in Long Beach, California.
