Allie K. Miller runs the AI advisory firm Open Machine. She led machine learning for startups and VC at AWS and built IBM's first multimodal AI team.

Allie K. Miller is an American AI adviser, investor and speaker, based in New York City. She holds a BA in cognitive science from Dartmouth College and a double-major MBA from the Wharton School. She began her AI career at IBM, where she launched the company's first multimodal AI team, leading about 30 engineers on Watson's image, text and face-recognition work. At Amazon Web Services she became Global Head of Machine Learning for Startups and Venture Capital, building the unit into a nearly 100-person organisation. She now runs Open Machine, the advisory firm she founded and leads as CEO, which works with Novartis, Samsung, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Coca-Cola, Gap, Google, OpenAI and Anthropic on AI strategy and adoption. She writes and teaches for a large audience — her own site puts her following at close to two million across platforms — runs AI courses and guidebooks for businesses, advises on AI public policy and is a national ambassador for the American Association for the Advancement of Science. TIME named her one of the 100 most influential people in AI in 2025.
