Aditya Ramesh: DALL-E creator, OpenAI robotics

Aditya Ramesh is OpenAI's VP of Robotics. He created DALL-E, co-created DALL-E 2, built the team behind Sora and leads the Worldsim programme.

Aditya Ramesh is VP of Robotics at OpenAI, the title his own X profile gives; his site, not updated since Sora 2, still says VP of Research. That site says he leads Worldsim and is bootstrapping the company's new robotics effort, carrying the behaviour learned by OpenAI's video-generation models into the physical world; when OpenAI announced a dedicated robotics group at the end of May 2026, it was reported as his. He studied at New York University, worked on research projects in Yann LeCun's lab there, and joined OpenAI after a summer internship instead of starting a PhD, so he holds no graduate degree. He created DALL-E, the text-to-image model OpenAI revealed on 5 January 2021, and co-created DALL-E 2, announced on 6 April 2022. He then led the team behind DALL-E 3 and its deployment in ChatGPT in September 2023, built the team that made Sora and the product at sora.com in December 2024, and worked on controllability and language grounding for Sora 2 in October 2025.
