Grant Sanderson is the creator and host of 3Blue1Brown, a YouTube channel with 8.63 million subscribers that explains mathematics — linear algebra, calculus, neural networks, Fourier transforms — through programmatic animation. He took a bachelor's degree in mathematics at Stanford in 2015, spent a year in Khan Academy's content fellowship, and now works on the channel full time. He wrote Manim, the open-source Python animation engine behind the videos, and runs the Summer of Math Exposition, an annual contest for new explainer creators. Harvey Mudd College's senior class voted him their 2024 commencement speaker.
