Gamified quiz and lesson platform for K-12 classrooms and corporate teams, rebranded from Quizizz in 2025 with an expanded AI content generation hub.

Wayground began in 2015 as Quizizz, founded by Deepak Cheenath and Ankit Gupta while volunteering at a remedial math program in Bangalore. The platform grew into one of the most widely used classroom engagement tools in the US, with a free tier reportedly used in the large majority of US schools, and raised roughly $47 million across Series A and B rounds in 2021 from investors including Tiger Global and Nexus Venture Partners. In June 2025 the company rebranded from Quizizz to Wayground, reflecting its expansion from a quiz tool into a broader supplemental-learning platform with curriculum-aligned lessons, lesson bundles, and an AI generation hub that turns a single uploaded file into quizzes, slides, and interactive activities. Quizizz Inc. remains the legal entity behind the Wayground brand, and existing quizizz.com links redirect automatically. Wayground is used across K-12 classrooms globally as well as some corporate training and event contexts, competing most directly with Kahoot! in the live classroom-engagement category.
