Collaborative trip planning app that imports bookings, maps routes, and lets groups build one shared itinerary from their phones.

Wanderlog was founded in 2019 by twin brothers Peter Xu and Harry Yu, who had previously built flight-deal sites BookWithMatrix and All The Flight Deals before going through Y Combinator's Winter 2019 batch with Wanderlog. The idea came out of asking more than a hundred travelers how they actually organized trips, which led to a product built around one shared itinerary a whole group edits together rather than a scattered mix of emails, spreadsheets, and group chats. The app lets users import flight and hotel confirmations directly from their inbox, map out day-by-day plans with drag-and-drop stops, optimize driving routes, and track a shared trip budget. A free tier covers the core mapping and collaboration features, while Wanderlog Pro adds offline maps, an AI trip assistant, automatic Gmail scanning for reservations, and unlimited photo attachments for around $40 a year. The company remains a small, largely bootstrapped team based in San Francisco, having raised $1.5 million in seed funding from General Catalyst and Abstract Ventures alongside Y Combinator's initial check.
