Tripo AI is the flagship product of VAST, a China-based AI startup founded in 2023 that develops 3D and world-generation foundation models. Tripo converts text prompts, reference images or sketches into textured, game-ready 3D assets, offering PBR texturing, local mesh refinement, model segmentation, rigging and animation, plus plugins for tools such as Blender, Unity and Unreal Engine. The company has grown quickly, reporting millions of creators and tens of thousands of studios and companies on its platform. It raised a $50 million Series A in March 2026 led by Alibaba Group and Hengxu Capital with participation from Baidu Ventures, followed by additional large rounds later in 2026 that pushed VAST to unicorn status, positioning it as a leading competitor in text-to-3D generation.
