Tomorrow.io was founded in Boston in 2016 as ClimaCell by Shimon Elkabetz, Itai Zlotnik, and Rei Goffer, three former Israeli Air Force officers who set out to fill gaps in traditional weather radar coverage. The company rebranded to Tomorrow.io in 2021 as it shifted from a mobile weather app toward an enterprise weather intelligence and climate resilience platform. The company combines proprietary weather radar and satellite hardware with machine learning models to deliver hyperlocal forecasts through an API and a Resilience Platform used for flight delay prediction, drone operations, insurance underwriting, and utility storm response. Customers have included the U.S. Air Force, JetBlue, Ford, and Uber. Its newest initiative, DeepSky, is described by the company as the first AI-native weather satellite constellation, building on an earlier generation of radar-equipped satellites already in orbit. In February 2026, Tomorrow.io announced a $175 million financing round led by Stonecourt Capital and HarbourVest Partners at a valuation over $1 billion, later expanded to $210 million with additional backing from Pitango and Harel Insurance. The company reported roughly $100 million in annual recurring revenue at the time and employs around 220 people.
