David Fano, previously WeWork's Chief Growth Officer, launched Teal in November 2019 after his own disorganized job search convinced him the spreadsheet-and-sticky-notes approach most people rely on deserved a real product. The company is based in Miami and has raised $20.7M in venture funding across several rounds, including a $7.5M Series A in January 2025 led by existing investors CityLight Capital and Flybridge. Teal's Chrome extension saves job listings from more than 40 job boards directly into a tracking board, and the platform layers a resume builder with keyword matching, an AI bullet-point writer, and a career resource hub on top of that free core. Competitors include Huntr, Careerflow, and Jobscan, though Teal differentiates by keeping the tracker and browser extension free indefinitely rather than gating them behind a trial.
