Suno was founded in Cambridge, Massachusetts, by Mikey Shulman, Georg Kucsko, Martin Camacho, and Keenan Freyberg, who had previously worked together at the AI startup Kensho before it was acquired by S&P Global. Suno's platform allows users to generate complete songs, including lyrics, vocals, and instrumentation, from text prompts, and has become one of the most widely used AI music generation tools, drawing lawsuits from major record labels over training data. The company raised a $125 million Series B in 2024, a $250 million Series C in November 2025 at a $2.45 billion valuation, and a $400 million Series D round in June 2026 that more than doubled its valuation to $5.4 billion; by early 2026 Suno reported over 2 million paid subscribers and roughly $300 million in annualized revenue.
