Squibler was launched in 2018 by Los Angeles-based founder Joshua Fechter with a bootstrapped, zero-funding model, and the company says it reached roughly five million dollars in annual recurring revenue within its first eighteen months, a founder-reported figure without independent audit. It remains privately held. The platform pairs a distraction-reduced word processor with genre-specific templates, a visual planning and outlining board, and an AI assistant that can draft chapters, scenes, or full manuscript outlines from a logline and a chosen genre, then translate finished text into more than 80 languages. It targets novelists and screenwriters specifically rather than general business or blog writing.
