Smartsheet provides an AI-powered cloud-based work management platform for planning, managing, automating, collaborating on, and reporting work across organizations.

Smartsheet was founded in 2005 and began as Novigo Technologies. Its early team included Brent Frei, Eric Brown, John Creason, and Mark Mader. The company developed a platform to help organizations track and communicate work that had traditionally been managed through spreadsheets, documents, and email. Smartsheet's platform supports project and task management, dashboards, reporting, workflow automation, collaboration, resource management, AI-powered insights, and integrations with other business systems. The company launched its first mobile app in 2013, introduced Control Center in 2015, and became publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange in 2018. Its acquisitions have included Converse.AI, 10,000ft, Slope, and Brandfolder. Blackstone and Vista Equity Partners completed the approximately $8.4 billion acquisition of Smartsheet on January 22, 2025, taking the company private. Smartsheet states that it serves more than 85% of Fortune 500 companies and has more than 3,000 employees. Rajeev Singh became Chief Executive Officer in October 2025, succeeding Sunny Gupta, who continues as Executive Chair.
