Secta Labs builds an AI headshot generator that produces studio-style portraits from a batch of user selfies. Founded in 2022 and run out of Austin, Texas, the company built its own image pipeline for training a per-customer likeness model rather than reselling a third-party diffusion API. It has processed more than 20 million headshot generations for over 190,000 customers, drawing press coverage from Forbes and Bloomberg Businessweek along the way. The company operates as a lean, largely self-funded team led by founder Marko Jak, a repeat entrepreneur who previously co-founded the venture Overscore AI. Secta positions itself against Aragon AI and HeadshotPro in the crowded AI-headshot category, differentiating through a larger set of post-generation editing tools bundled into a single one-time purchase rather than a subscription.
