Rocket Money

Personal finance app that tracks subscriptions, negotiates bills, and budgets spending, now owned by Rocket Companies after its Truebill rebrand.

Rocket Money

Rocket Money began as Truebill, founded in 2015 by brothers Haroon, Yahya, and Idris Mokhtarzada after they noticed how many subscriptions they were still paying for and no longer used. The app grew around a simple pitch: scan a user's linked accounts, surface recurring charges, and offer one-tap cancellation. Rocket Companies, the mortgage lender behind Rocket Mortgage, acquired Truebill for $1.275 billion in December 2021 and rebranded it as Rocket Money in August 2022. The app is headquartered in Silver Spring, Maryland, with additional offices including San Francisco, and has broadened into full budgeting, credit monitoring, and bill-negotiation services. Haroon Mokhtarzada continues to lead the business as CEO under the Rocket Companies umbrella, with his brother Yahya serving as chief revenue officer.
