Raycast AI adds always-available chat, quick answers blended with web search, and custom AI commands wired to keyboard shortcuts. The company was founded in 2020 by Thomas Paul Mann and Petr Nikolaev and is headquartered in the United Kingdom, operating as a fully distributed team of around 40 people across many countries. In 2024 it raised a $30M Series B (roughly €27M) led by Atomico, with Accel, Coatue, and Y Combinator participating, alongside angels including the CEOs of Vercel, GitHub, and Shopify. Originally Mac-only, Raycast expanded to Windows and iOS, pursuing a cross-platform 'shortcut to everything' rather than a single-OS utility.
