Poe is an AI chatbot aggregator built by Quora that provides access to many third-party LLMs through a single interface.

Quora was founded in June 2009 by Adam D'Angelo (former Facebook CTO) and Charlie Cheever, initially as a question-and-answer website. In December 2022, Quora launched Poe (Platform for Open Exploration), a chatbot aggregator app that lets users interact with multiple AI models - including those from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and Meta - through one unified interface; it opened to the public in February 2023 and added a desktop web version in March 2023. Quora has historically raised over $260M, including an $85M Series D in April 2017 led by Collaborative Fund and Y Combinator's Continuity Fund at roughly a $1.8B valuation, later reported around $2B in 2019. In recent years the company has focused increasingly on Poe as its primary growth product under CEO Adam D'Angelo. Quora, and Poe, are headquartered in Mountain View, California, with reported headcount fluctuating between roughly 660 and 1,200 employees across 2025-2026.
