QA Wolf
Managed AI plus human QA service that gets teams to 80% automated end-to-end test coverage in about four months and keeps maintaining it afterward.

QA Wolf was founded in 2019 in Seattle by Jon Perl, Laura Cressman and Scott Wilson, developers who had worked in healthtech and other high-stakes environments where flaky or missing test coverage caused real production incidents. The company spent its early years mostly heads-down before emerging from stealth in 2022 with $20 million in funding from investors including Peter Thiel. Rather than selling a self-serve tool, QA Wolf runs what it calls Coverage-as-a-Service: its own engineers and a multi-agent AI system interview the product team, crawl the application, and generate Playwright (web) and Appium (mobile) test code for every user flow that matters, with a human reviewing and approving each test before it ships. QA Wolf's own staff then triages failures and maintains the suite going forward, so the customer's engineering team isn't the one debugging flaky automation. The company raised a $36 million Series B led by Scale Venture Partners in July 2024 to expand into native mobile testing, bringing total funding to roughly $56 million, and has grown past 200 employees.
