PostHog
Open-source product analytics suite combining event tracking, session replay, feature flags, experiments, and an AI copilot, with a generous self-serve free tier.

PostHog builds an all-in-one product analytics platform aimed at engineering-led teams who would otherwise stitch together separate tools for analytics, session replay, feature flags, and experimentation. James Hawkins and Tim Glaser founded the company in 2020 after going through Y Combinator, and it is now headquartered in San Francisco. The platform bundles more than ten products, including product and web analytics, session replay, feature flags, A/B experiments, surveys, error tracking, a data warehouse layer, and workflow automation, under one SQL-based query engine called HogQL, so a single event schema powers all of them instead of separate exports between tools. Much of the core product is open source and can be self-hosted, while most customers use PostHog's hosted cloud offering, which includes a free tier generous enough for many small teams to run entirely without paying: 1 million analytics events and 5,000 session recordings per month, among other allowances. PostHog has raised $194 million total, including a $75 million Series E in September 2025 at a $1.4 billion valuation led by Peak XV Partners, and reported roughly $57.5 million in annual recurring revenue in early 2026.
