PolyAI
Enterprise voice AI company building natural-sounding phone assistants that resolve customer service calls for large call centers, without a human in the loop.

PolyAI was founded in London in 2017 by Nikola Mrkšić, Pei-Hao Su, and Tsung-Hsien Wen, who met as PhD researchers in Cambridge University's dialogue systems group. That academic background shows in the product's focus: rather than chasing the broad conversational-AI-for-everything space, PolyAI has stayed narrowly aimed at high-volume enterprise call centers in banking, hospitality, insurance, retail, and telecoms. The company builds and operates voice assistants that handle full customer calls end to end — not just triage before a transfer — for large brands including FedEx, Marriott, and Whitbread. PolyAI reports resolution rates near 90% and containment above 50% for many deployments, with cost-per-call reductions cited by customers as one of the main reasons they adopted it. PolyAI closed an $86 million Series D in December 2025, co-led by Georgian, Hedosophia, and Khosla Ventures with participation from NVIDIA's venture arm, at a $750 million valuation, bringing total funding to more than $200 million.
