Seattle startup building an AI add-on that creates and edits presentations directly inside Google Slides and PowerPoint instead of a separate web editor.

Plus was founded in 2021 by Daniel Li, a former investment partner at Madrona Venture Group, and is based in Seattle with a distributed team spanning several cities. The company built its product, marketed as Plus AI, as a browser extension and add-on rather than a standalone presentation app, on the premise that most professionals don't want to migrate their decks to a new tool just to get AI assistance. Plus AI generates and edits slides using prompts, uploaded documents, or existing brand templates, working natively inside Google Slides and, more recently, Microsoft PowerPoint, so files stay in Google Drive or OneDrive with existing sharing and version history intact. The company has raised approximately $8 million from investors including Madrona and Positive Sum, along with angel backers who previously led companies such as Auth0, Plaid, and Zapier. With around 10 employees, Plus AI has reached over one million installs on the Google Workspace Marketplace, competing with browser-native tools like Gamma, Beautiful.ai, and Tome by staying inside the presentation software teams already use rather than asking them to switch.
