Pactum was founded in Mountain View, California, in 2019 by Martin Rand, Kaspar Korjus, and Kristjan Korjus, with engineering based in Tallinn, Estonia. The founding team drew on backgrounds from Skype, Starship Technologies, and Estonia's e-Residency program, and set out to automate the high-volume, repetitive negotiations that buyers rarely have time to run individually - contract renewals, payment-term requests, tail-spend deals. Its Negotiation Suite uses specialized AI agents for different negotiation contexts, from sole-source requisitions to tactical sourcing to post-sourcing term refinements, conducting real-time chat-based negotiations with suppliers on price, payment terms, and contract renewals. Walmart's deployment, reported by Bloomberg in 2023, negotiated with thousands of suppliers in parallel and became the company's best-known reference case; other customers include Maersk, Vallen, and Mediclinic. The platform integrates with sourcing systems such as SAP Ariba, Coupa, and Synertrade. Pactum has raised more than $100 million, including a $54 million Series C round in June 2025 led by Insight Partners. In December 2025, co-founder Kaspar Korjus became CEO, with co-founder Martin Rand moving into a newly created President role.
