Omni

Business intelligence platform combining a governed semantic layer with a spreadsheet-like, no-code interface, built by former Looker and Google Analytics executives.

Omni

Omni builds a business intelligence platform meant to close the gap between governed, semantic-layer BI tools like Looker and more flexible, self-serve tools like Tableau or Power BI. Colin Zima, Jamie Davidson, and Chris Merrick, who met as Princeton undergraduates and went on to lead data efforts at Looker, Google, Stitch, and Talend, founded the company in San Francisco in 2022. The product lets an analyst define a metric once in a shared modeling layer while letting a business user explore that same data through spreadsheet-style formulas or a visual query builder, without either group needing to touch raw SQL unless they want to. Because the modeling layer sits above the warehouse rather than requiring a full migration, several customers report moving their existing Looker or Tableau content into Omni over a matter of weeks rather than a multi-quarter re-platforming project. Omni has raised $217 million total, including a $120 million Series C led by ICONIQ in 2026 that valued the company at $1.5 billion, with additional backing from Theory Ventures, First Round Capital, Redpoint Ventures, and GV.
