Nscale was incorporated in the United Kingdom on May 29, 2024, and is understood to have been spun out of Arkon Energy, a renewably powered data-center and cryptocurrency-mining infrastructure company. Computer Weekly reports that Arkon Energy was founded by Josh Payne and Nathan Townsend; Nscale identifies Payne as its CEO and founder. Nscale develops and operates vertically integrated AI infrastructure spanning data centers, GPU compute, networking, storage, managed software and AI services. Its platform supports enterprise and government workloads, including AI training, fine-tuning and inference. Nscale raised $155 million in Series A funding in December 2024, followed by a $1.1 billion Series B announced on September 25, 2025, and a $433 million Pre-Series C SAFE announced on October 1, 2025. On March 9, 2026, it announced a $2 billion Series C that valued the company at $14.6 billion. Nscale is headquartered in London and operates globally, with infrastructure development across Europe, North America and Asia. The company describes its strategy as delivering full-stack, enterprise-grade AI infrastructure through GPU deployments, data centers, networking, storage, orchestration software and managed AI services.
