The company's best-known product, GPT4All, is an open-source tool that lets language models run locally on a personal computer or smartphone without requiring cloud access or a GPU; it became one of the fastest-growing repositories in GitHub history. Nomic also builds embedding models and Atlas, a tool for visualizing and exploring large unstructured datasets. In 2023, Nomic raised a $17M Series A led by Coatue Management, valuing the company at roughly $100M post-money, with participation from Contrary Capital, Betaworks Ventures, SV Angel, and others.
