modl.ai
Copenhagen studio building AI-driven virtual players that automatically test games for bugs, glitches, and balance issues.

modl.ai was founded in 2017 in Copenhagen by Christoffer Holmgård, Lars Peter Henriksen, and Benedikte Mikkelsen, with Holmgård continuing as CEO. The company builds AI agents, which it calls virtual players, that play games autonomously to find bugs, along with bots that act as human-like opponents in multiplayer testing. Its core product uses computer vision rather than code-level hooks to read a game's screen, so QA teams can direct it with plain-language instructions and get back detailed bug reports with severity scoring. The tooling currently performs best on mobile titles and games with clearly structured interactions such as match, card, and narrative genres, running on Android and desktop with iOS and console support in progress. modl.ai raised an $8.4 million Series A round led by Griffin Gaming Partners and Microsoft's M12 fund, bringing total funding to roughly $10.8 million, and has worked with mobile and mid-size studios looking to cut manual QA time.
