Mindtrip was founded in 2023 in Palo Alto by a team led by CEO Andy Moss, a serial entrepreneur whose earlier ventures include Roadster, FabKids, and the fashion search engine ShopStyle. The founding and early engineering team also includes veterans from Zuora, Stripe, Google, and Looker, and the company positions itself against generic chatbots by putting every AI suggestion directly onto an interactive map rather than leaving it as text in a chat window. The product lets a traveler describe a trip in plain language and get back restaurants, hotels, flights, attractions, and local events organized into a shareable plan, with a Start Anywhere feature that lets planning begin from any point of interest rather than a fixed itinerary template. Trips can be shared with friends or family, who can comment, suggest edits, or tag the AI assistant directly inside the group chat for suggestions that balance everyone's preferences. Mindtrip also runs a creator program for travel guides and offers B2B tools for hotels and destination marketing organizations. The company has raised $19 million to date, including a $12 million Series A in September 2024 led by Costanoa Ventures with Forerunner Ventures joining, and reports around 48 employees as of 2026.
