Singapore-founded studio behind PixAI, an anime-focused AI art generator with custom character training used by millions of creators.

Mewtant was incorporated in Singapore in 2022 and now also operates out of Menlo Park and Tokyo, building PixAI, a generation platform aimed squarely at anime and ACG-style art rather than photorealism. Co-founder Rissa Cao has described the goal as building a home for anime creativity where fans can generate, train and share character models rather than just prompt a general-purpose image model and hope for an anime look. The platform has grown into one of the larger anime-specific communities in the space, with a library of more than 1.5 million community-trained models and LoRAs and over a billion images generated by its claimed user base. PixAI closed a Series A round with backers including Peak XV Partners, and was named to a16z's list of top consumer AI apps.
