LANDR is a Montreal-based creative platform for musicians, founded around 2012 (originally as MixGenius) by Pascal Pilon, Justin Evans and collaborators, growing out of research on automated audio mastering. It launched its flagship AI mastering service in 2014, using machine-learning models trained by professional engineers to instantly master stereo mixes in a browser. Over time LANDR expanded well beyond mastering into a full music-creation and career platform: unlimited distribution to 150+ streaming platforms, a marketplace of plugins and millions of royalty-free samples, a mastering plugin for DAWs, and collaboration tools. The company has raised roughly $53 million across multiple rounds, including a $26 million CAD Series B backed by Sony Innovation Fund, Shure, Investissement Quebec and others, and serves several million registered musicians.
