Lambda (formerly Lambda Labs) is an AI infrastructure company headquartered in San Jose, California, founded in 2012 by twin brothers Stephen and Michael Balaban. It began by selling GPU-equipped workstations and servers to AI researchers and later expanded into a full GPU cloud business, renting out NVIDIA GPU capacity for training and inference at scale. Lambda's offerings include on-demand cloud GPU instances, its 1-Click Clusters product for quickly provisioning production-ready multi-GPU clusters, and dedicated "AI factory" data center deployments for large enterprise and research customers. The company has raised roughly $3.2 billion across multiple rounds, including a Series E of over $1.5 billion led by TWG Global in late 2025, and appointed Michel Combes as CEO in 2026 as it pursued further scaling toward a potential IPO.
