Kuaishou Technology

Publicly traded Chinese tech company (HKEX: 1024) operating the Kuaishou short-video platform; developer of the Kling AI video generation model.

Kuaishou Technology was founded in March 2011 in Beijing by Su Hua and Cheng Yixiao, initially as a GIF-sharing tool before becoming a short-video and livestreaming platform. The company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (ticker: 1024) in February 2021, raising roughly HK$41 billion in its IPO, and reported about 24,700 employees for fiscal year 2024 and CN¥142.8 billion in 2025 revenue. In June 2024, Kuaishou launched Kling (Kling AI), a diffusion-transformer text-to-video generation model comparable to OpenAI's Sora; it launched Kling AI 3.0 in February 2026 with video, video-omni, image, and image-omni variants. Kling AI is a product/model developed within Kuaishou rather than a separately incorporated company, though in mid-2026 Kuaishou brought in outside investors — including Tencent, Alibaba, and Baidu — who committed roughly $2.8 billion for a stake in the Kling AI business at an approximate $15 billion pre-money valuation ($18 billion post-money), and Kuaishou has filed for a potential separate Hong Kong listing of the Kling AI unit. Cheng Yixiao remains Chairman and CEO of Kuaishou.
